Default Something big is coming from Martin

On Thursday!

I got this in an email this morning. What do you think it is?

I'm going with SC-28e.

I don't know what it is but there's a chunk of the body missing off the upper bout. I wonder if that's a cost saving measure? Or perhaps to reduce its environmental impact by using less wood?

I was hoping 'super jumbo' with their underutilized Grand J-14 fret body ... but not with a cutaway thanks.

Based on the deep cutaway and the asymmetrical body shape, it looks like a new S model to me. I'd be surprised if it were anything in the Standard series due to lack of a traditional dovetail neck joint (assuming this will be an S model with a linear dovetail).

I think you are right about it being in the SC line. Zoomed the pic and it has a lot of the colored circles the SC 13 had at the 12th fret. Hope it looks more like traditional color tones, no funky colored rosette.

Would be very neat if it's a smaller body with that great SC neck shape.

Also, what pickup do you think will be in it?

Anything is going to be better than the Mx-T that they cheaped out and put in the SC-13.

Well, I hope the OP will enjoy his new creation, but for me Martin peaked on body designs in 1931.
I'm with Robin regarding the cutbacks, er, I mean cutaways.

Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it will have a pencil thin neck, so I'll just have to watch from afar.
