Guys, thanks a lot for the info!
But due to Covid19 here in Italy (and in Europe) airlines delete many flights every day, so I prefer not to travel during this period and in the near future.
Besides this also allows me to save a lot of money and not to live in the near future under a bridge with my Wilborn, HA!

New upgrade!
After having personally tried numerous guitars with Sitka Spruce and Adirondack Spruce tops, I preferred to order another guitar upgrade: passing from the "regular" Sitka Spruce top to a Master Grade Adirondack Spruce top.

I gave Ben free choice for the top board, asking him to choose the Adirondack Spruce board he thinks the best (among all those he owns). He chose this master grade board cut in 2018:

Smile This will be well worth waiting for!

Ben is a lovely fun guy, and a builder of spectacular instruments.

He is also a monster player himself. If you haven’t yet, Check out Frog and Toad, Ben And Brad’s excellent duo!!!

Enjoy the wait and the anticipation…

You might need another axe to tide you over in the meantime….

If so, you are certainly in the right place here!!!

Cheers

Paul

Thank you very much guys, when I asked him for the best top he had and he sent me the photo of that master grade Adirondack top writing me (verbatim) "beautiful silk across the grain, absolutely stiff and lightweight, that rings with a single, pure note. This is the most powerful sounding wood in my experience and will make a killer guitar!", he just convinced me immediately

me actually:

#1 UPDATE - July 2022:

Although a very small update, I want to share it with you.
Wilborn, on my request, made a small figured maple plaque, with an inscription handmade by a calligrapher: "B. Wilborn - invenit et fecit".
It's latin, literally means "invented and made": it's a phrase used by the first art critics of the Middle Ages, it meant the authorship of a work of art).
The plaque will be glued into the body when it will be ready, but the wait is still long.

Hope you like this gem!

Very nice plaque! And totally appropriate

This will be well worth the wait.

Go, Ben!
