Default Taylor 314ce(2008model) noisy???

My Taylor 314ce(2008model) is quite noisy depending on the venue I play at.

I guess it's a grounding issue depending on the building,
but it's more often noisy than it is not.

Is this normal with Taylor ES system?
Or is my unit faulty?

*I cannot use TRS cables, because I use few pedals for electric guitars.

I used a 314 for a year or so. I can't answer the noise issue but seriously recommend you buy locally the equivalent to this cheap godsend.

The Taylor TES system just doesn't work properly without a TRS lead. For a start, the tone controls are pretty ineffective and the volume is cut with a standard cable.

I don't now if there is anything wrong with the Expression System in your guitar. Assuming it is not defective, you can and likely should use a TRS to XLR cable plus this inexpensive impedance transformer.

If you suspect faulty electrical wiring where you perform, you should also consider buying a ground fault tester like this $4.00 one from Home Depot to easily test the wiring of the AC outlets:

I would also recommend calling Taylor Customer Service, with your guitar's serial number handy and ask them if your guitar is equipped with a grounding strap.

Not sure in your model but in most recent Taylors 2007 and upward, they include a grounding fuse in the electronics. If it blows, then you will experience noise in the signal. The fuse has to be replaced. Its there to prevent electrical shocks from bad grounds to microphones and other such situations where the user can experience possible electrocution.

I had to replace one on my Taylor solid body electrics. I know my GA8 with the ES system also has one but its more difficult to replace than the solid body.
This is from Taylors website:
Fused String Ground
Protection
The ES is equipped with a fused string ground, a
patented safety feature designed to protect the player
from venues or other amplified settings where there
may be improper electrical ground. A grounding plate
affixed to the underside of the bridge plate is wired to
a fuse, which removes the player from the circuit path
in the event of a current seeking ground. If current is
traveling through the ground, the fuse will blow, but
the player will remain unharmed. The ES will continue
to work, but the strings will no longer be grounded,
leaving the guitar potentially more susceptible to an
electrical hum. A blown fuse should be replaced by an
authorized Taylor repair technician.
