Cool. My E1SS-LTD-TRAD is all-solid, as well, and is a terrific guitar.

I don't wanna speak out of turn but i believe all the Eastman E1 models are all solid Sitka/Sapele unless they do a LTD release.

Great guitars. I have the E1OOSS SB and I love it. I play it more than any of my other more expensive guitars.

Yep, as far as I understand it, the laminated back/sides models are the PCH line, which doesn't currently have the slope shoulder designs.

There is a small shop about an hour's drive from me that has that guitar in stock at the standard price. I am interested in trying it out but I wonder if it would provide anything different than what I have in my Epiphone Masterbilt. Both have solid spruce tops, both are slopes, both have the thinner nut width. The Masterbilt has solid mahogany back and sides while the Eastman has solid sapele. I've only had one guitar with sapele back and sides ... and that was a laminated entry Mitchell and I didn't like it that much.
I've only played one used Eastman in my life and I remember it had a good sound ... but not the sound I was looking for. Still, it doesn't hurt to try right? Plus the shop owner says he has just gotten in a used Eastman 2D OM which seemed to be at a good price. Plus that offers some intriquing options which I don't have such as a solid cedar top and the OM size as all of my guitars are dreadnoughts. Still I do like the deeper bass of a dread.

I own two Eastman's and enjoy both very much. They are very different in both size and shape so no real over lap to compare tone to my other guitars. |
