Default Sunburst Redwood

Does anyone own a redwood topped guitar with a burst top finish? Mind sharing a picture?

I am getting a Kopp K35 next spring with a tunnel 14 top and walnut B/S, and I am toying with the idea of a burst on the top. I had "settled" my mind on a natural top and tortoise binding, but I recently saw a Huss and Dalton that got my gears turning again. https://downhomeguitars.com/product/...nburst-custom/ I like this burst, but would probably shoot for less red hue and more transparency at the edges.

While I don't have pictures, I seem to recall Taylor doing some sinker redwood guitars with what they call a shaded edge burst. Perhaps search for that? The one you posted looks pretty amazing.

Thank you for the lead- that might be just the bread crumbs I need to track down some pictures.

Have you sent that link to Kevin and asked him what he thinks? I’m pretty sure he could produce an equally good looking sunburst finish for you. I sent him a photo of one of his own sunburst finishes to show him what I wanted and he was appreciative. And he nailed the finish I was asking for.

Yep! And I sent some other reference pictures, one of them being his tobacco burst on this Bird. I don’t quite want it this dark, but this one is really striking and one of his builds that drew me initially.

That is a pretty wild guitar! Sunburst definitely suits that one.

Thank you for posting and at least confirming I won't be strung up for considering it!

I did discuss with Kevin this week and I think we're going to go for the burst. I'll make a final call once we pick a soundboard.
