Default All this dancing around!

A lighthearted post: More and more I am seeing commercials where people break out into dance at the smallest positive event. Someone can get a pizza that comes pre-sliced and suddenly dance music is on and the room is full of dancing friends. Old folks, kids, middle aged, all have some dance moves.

I guess it's a way to sell things....that feel -good feeling. I won't say I have never broken out into a very short little dance when alone and something good happens, so I understand it can happen.

I guess the dance parties for trivia are here to stay? What's the beginning of the one old song: "Everybody dance now!"

I have a saying: "Nope. Nope. Nope. You won't sell me anything with dancers."

Well, at a minimum it keeps some dancers employed, or adds to their employment. There are worse things...!

I want to live in one of those ads. The people are always smiling and so happy - even the ones with serious illnesses who seem to be doing most of the dancing. They have such interesting lives: volunteering at the local food bank or building sets on the village green for a local children’s play. Kayaking in some pristine lake in the wilderness, or surfing some perfect waves. And the people doing all of this are all older, like me! I don’t care what the medication is actually for, I want some if it gives me a life like they have. And the only side effects seem to be incontinence, liver damage, blindness, or death. I’m in!

Since 90 plus percent of what I watch is streaming or public TV I haven't seen a commercial (or a commercial trend) in a while. Dancing? That's the latest way to try and sell people things? Huh. I guess there's worse ways.

Don't take this medication if you are allergic to it ?

How would you know ?

Is this warning coming for peanuts, bread, ect. ?

It sure is! I saw the label on a peanut butter jar that said "warning: may contain nuts". What a shock! I mean I really hope it does!

Almost as good as fruit with a sticker saying "gluten free" and yes, I've seen those too!

Once the dancing and singing starts I'm done.

Life doesn't have a soundtrack, maybe people who make commercials should catch up on that.

Less entertainment, more honesty in advertising is what is needed.

It is the ultimate version of the "Buy the lifestyle" appeal used by advertisers for decades. "Buy this product and you'll be so happy you won't be able to keep from breaking out into a dance."

You made me laugh!

I was just thinking yesterday what fun it would be to make a YouTube video about some made-up drug and then go through the warnings, which of course would be dire and scary!

The side effects are worse than the problem that needs to be treated it seems at times!

Yeah, I know what you mean! We have two (only two) irritating ads , one for an car dealer (Webuyanycar) and another for a kitchen design company with people dancng all over the place.
What is REALLY irritating is the Citroen car ads with some creepy guy covered in popcorn (eugh!) or a woman drinking a green liquid or a fat guy drying his long red hair!
Why would that make me want to buy their cars ????

If the ad doesn't feature the product - it means there is nothing good to say about it!

At least the BBC doesn't run ads ... or does it ? Loads of short promos for other programmes between programmes !

….generally speaking I’m a big fan of dance…I usually like to watch people dancing no matter where or why….however….some product sales do not go together well with dancing…..the Pepto Bismol commercial comes to mind….any song and dance advertisement that mentions diarrhea is just plain weird…and kinda creepy..
