Default Simon Fay -- Roadtrip Guitar

In the next week or so, I'll be delivering the Roadtrip Guitar to the 1st participant on the list ... and where it will begin its journey across the continental US. Each person will have the guitar for 1-2 weeks before handing it off to the next participant. You don't have to be actively interested in ordering one of my guitars to participate. Due to the value of this guitar, I am being selective ... but that is simply to avoid theft and ensure those who participate will take proper care of the guitar while in their possession. If you're interested, more information and how to sign up can be found on my website here:

http://www.fayguitars.com/Guitars/roadtrip.html

The instrument is a Sitka Spruce / Desert Ironwood Model One. The Model One is my version of an OM style guitar. The scale length is 25.0"with a 1 25/32" Nut and 2.25" string spacing at the saddle.

Special thanks to Calton Cases for providing the case !!!

All the Best,
Simon

I've added a couple more participants to the list. To clarify, you don't have to be an owner of high-end guitars or anything like that. The selection criteria is just to ensure the guitar will be in the hands of responsible individuals and folks who understand how to properly care for a guitar.

Once again, details and instructions regarding the Roadtrip are on my website.

At the moment, it would be nice to add some folks in North Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Also, Texas and Colorado. Other locations are welcome as well.

Great initiative Simon; makes me wish I wasn't in Australia

I for one would enjoy seeing a few images (maybe on this thread?) as the guitar makes its way around the US.

Desert Ironwood? Now I am tempted. We are away right now, however.

Hi Roland,
It will likely be up your way in 2 to 3 months or so. Let me know if you want in.

Thanks much Simon for doing this. I enjoyed playing and recording your last road trip guitar some twelve years ago. People on your list are in for a treat.

Great stuff Simon - back in the day I'd have been all over this, but I'm just not as "enthusiastic" as I used to be about playing as I once was.

I truly enjoyed the first few prototypes I played at your place all those years ago...I imagine you have honed your craft over the last 15 years!!

I'm sure this will be enjoyed greatly by those who's lives it touches.

Got internet again.... Yes, that might be fun and I would be interested - BUT not at the expense of "taking it away" from someone who might be in the market for fine guitar. Meaning count me out if it means someone else wouldn't get to play it. Otherwise I am in. And i won't be hurt if you tell me that may slot should go to another.

I've added you, Roland. Are you still in Sprakers NY ? Maybe email me your contact information just to be sure I have the correct info on file.

And for you or anybody that's also interested ... no slots. The guitar will go to as many folks that want to play it. I fully expect this Roadtrip to last a couple years and maybe longer if more people want to try it out.

Very cool idea. I wish I could participate if I had a way better life schedule.

You are welcome to see if your schedule works out, s2y. If the guitar arrives in your area and your schedule doesn't allow you to participate ... no worries. I'll just arrange for it to go to the next person on the list.

email me if you'd like to join the list. And also, for those who might be interested, please read the Roadtrip details on my website before asking to join the list.

Amazing opportunity! I emailed you, but whether I am added or not I think it's such a cool project. I'll be following it's journey for sure!
