Default Hello Everyone!

My name is Giuliano Nicoletti, I am a guitar builder with my brand Iulius Guitars, and an acoustic engineer at Focal (the loudspeakers). I am Italian, and I live in Saint Etienne, France.
I started building guitars around 2013, and when I finished the design of my original models I launched a professional activity, 3 years ago.
I showcased my instruments at European shows, but I never went to the US. I am regularly holding webinars and conferences about the acoustic of the guitar, my specialty, and I am a contributor of the Looth Group.
A year ago, I also published a manual “Mastering the sound of the acoustic guitar”, available on amazon.
I have a technical approach to guitar building, but I aim for a design that is streamlined, simple, harmonious, and understated. To me, the guitar's purpose is to generate feelings, emotions, and inspire the musician to explore new paths.
I am beginning the build of a couple of Orchestra, my OM sized model, and I am looking forward to share with you my building and voicing process.
In the meantime, thanks everyone for the hospitality!

Cheers,
Giuliano

p.s. does anyone know how to change my profile ID (Iuliusfecit)? It's an old one, and I would like to update it...

Welcome Giuliano! We’ve crossed paths on the Looth Group and I am a proud owner of your book. And I’m still hoping to carve out a full week of quiet time to immerse myself in it!

Best,

Rick

Welcome Giuliano and thanks for sponsoring the AGF.

I had a quick look at your website. Your guitars look very elegant, and your technical information is going to take me ages to read through!

Thank you Kevin, you're very kind. I've been in the control panel and Edit Your Details interface, but it seems that I cannto modify the ID (Iuliusfecit); can you please check with other moderators? It's not urgent, but I would like to know if we can modify or if I have to create a new profile, before posting anything else...

Thanks again, and have a nice day.
Giuliano

Thank you Colins. Yes, the site is quite charged with info, as part of my activity is technical divulgation. It can be a little too heavy, I guess in th next future I will simplify the instruments zone of the site, and concentrate the technical info in a dedicated space. To leave all the info accessible, but the contents more clear.
BTW, if you have some curiosity, it's always a pleasure sharing my experience.

Cheers,
Giuliano

Hi Giuliano,

Very interesting approach to guitar building, looks promising.
You have some sound samples or videos available?

Thanks,
Frederick

Thank you Frederick! Yes, I have some samples of previous models.

Here my nylon strings crossover Seicorde:

Here the Settecorde, a seven string brasilian model:

Here a prototype of the AT15, an 15" acoustic archtop:

I am working to produce more samples, and some video also of my latest steel string, the Orchestra. I will keep you updated!

Cheers,
Giuliano

Contact a moderator directly - the only way to do it. List in the bottom right corner of most index pages.

Very cool. Welcome to the AGF. Engineer at Focal? Wow, that's exciting. I don't know their speakers very well, but I do have the Utopia and Stellia, both of which are incredible headphones.
