It's risky business live but worth the trouble in the studio :-) thank you for listening

I have to agree Dustin, your best yet in terms of production and the beautiful story you tell. It’s such a privilege and inspiration that as you grow as an artist that you still reach out to our small community and share these performances and your insights.

I have to ask. I’m assuming the audio portion of this performance was recorded in the distillery setting. I’d love to hear about the recording details as the sound and tone is just superb.

Don’t know what say I’m speechless. You have a good voice though I only heard one other song by you singing . I really like that song to just can’t remember it’s name .

Your playing is wonderfully beautiful and no matter what guitar you have in hand you would make it sound good .

Well done , a beautiful song indeed.

Thank you very much for the kind words, the other song might have been "Evergreen", I've only shared a handful with vocals because I generally don't have a great setup for recording voice available for a good quantity of videos.

Absolutely, Bob. I'm glad you enjoyed it - I recorded the audio at a local pro studio (separate session) and I actually just brought a bluetooth speaker to the distillery to play the mastered file while I played and sang along for shooting the video - this ensures the tempo would be in sync for editing later. It's important if you do this way of shooting a video that you use the exact file you plan to release the song with as sample rates can vary the length of the song and you'll go crazy later syncing stuff up if it's not the exact same file!

The miming method is maybe not something most would admit to but there's no way possible to record a balance and fullness to the sound like this in a setting like that without cramming a ton of equipment into the room and then hope I nail that tuning part halfway through and actually sing well! Not to mention EQ everything separate and clean. When recording in the studio I generally just have my engineer roll it and I played the song about 10 times and we pick and pull best sections from each and so on. There are still some small imperfections but I'm happier to have someone else who knows what they are doing take care of audio then do more work myself recording at home. Ill do that for guitar demos and instrumentals but not original works like this where I want to focus my total attention on the song.
