Default EZ Drummer 2?

Just released today. Anyone planning an upgrade? It looks, on the surface, much better than the origibal.

I really like EZD-1, since I learned to modify the loops (to make them 'my own'). Definitely going to upgrade to EZD-2 soon. Hoping a special deal will happen, though - the upgrade is $89 at Sweetwater. I paid $39 for EZD-1 when it was on sale, and have a couple of the expansion packs (Nashville and Classic) which I got for $29 each.

I will be buying it (I started out as a drummer); I like and use EZ1 and EZ2 looks great, especially the kit selections.

But oh how I wish they did rototom samples!

cheers,
Steve

Yep, I did the same thing. I now have Americana, Nashville, Indie Folk, and Latin. Now that I'm more familiar with editing the loops, I like it a lot more. I think I'll end up upgrading.

I went ahead and downloaded it today. Very nice! The interface is much better and loads really quickly!

I know it has its own interface now for creating songs, but can you still drag and drop the loops into your DAW like the original version?

Yep, that part remained the same. It's a whole lot easier to mix and match songs to different drum sets. Haven't played around with it a lot yet, but after a slight bug getting it installed it's working great.

Can you create your own beats and rhythms? Can you switch time signatures and such, as in making a track that does four bars of 3/4 into four bars of 4/4 with a turnaround of one bar of 7/8 leading into 8 bars of 4/4 that gradually slows for 120 bpm down the 90 bpm over the 8 bars?

The gradual bpm change would be done in your DAW (you can do that in Reaper).

Seems like a drawback to me to not be able to do it in the drum sequencer.

Not sure why that would be ? Wouldn't you want the rest of material in the DAW doing the same change of signature and speed ? I suppose one could manually move the midi notes to change signature. Is there a DAW based drum sequencer that lets you do this another way independent of the DAW ?

I have not purchased it yet, but will soon. The tap 2 find feature looks like a great improvement. I would probably buy it for just that alone.
