Congrats on your build, JR.

The McKnights that I played were terrific sounding instruments.

I've always loved the looks of maple but find the tone of other woods to be more versatile. Doubling the back and sides is such a fantastic idea!

Thanks, everyone! This guitar is really coming along. Thanks to Mary for her tireless work on all these photos!!

RioRider - thank you for reposting that. What a great build and great memory. It was quite an honor for me to get to present that guitar at Healdsburg, to a deserving young man!

JR had requested a much lighter finish with a honey burst. So...don't freak out because it will NOT be this dark. I just add a thinned down stain so it penetrates the curl and makes it pop under a much [lighter] finish. I promise
