Great guitar and build thread - congratulations to both the builder and the owner!
JR, may I ask what guitar is in the pic illustrating the honey burst - it's beautiful!

Thanks Larry and thanks to JR for sharing. Mary typically takes between 500 -1000 pictures of each build process then emails the pictures to our customers to keep. Some choose to keep them while other ones choose to share them with the world. Its a lot of work for Mary and a service that I could not provide in such great detail without her help. I feel extremely blessed to have been given such a willing and helpful partner in life

Thanks again everyone!

Mcozma - the guitar I showed Tim for a finish example is a Gibson Citation Archtop.

A few more pics...

Measuring the thickness before sanding

Danger - this product generates GAS

Mary's pictures and captions are a great plus for those who get to enjoy having a McKnight built. It's an education in itself, and has made me far more appreciative of the magical art and craft of coaxing a guitar out of a tree.

J.R., this build brings back the thrill of seeing my AGF Award guitar come to life under Tim's hands. I like your choices, and am excited to see its progress.

This is looking to be a wonderful guitar... the choices you've made are great... and the pics are an added bonus.

Tim is there a particular reason why you cut the back on the band saw and the top on the CNC?

The back was already pre cut to a Jumbo shape and it had to be reduced to a OO size for the Deacon body shape. Yes, I could have cut it on the CNC but I only have one Maple set that JR chose and did not want to risk damage on the CNC. What???? A CNC is a great tool but occasionally they do make mistakes or should I clarify that most of those mistakes can be attributed to the operator. I have lots of spruce but only one set of this maple...

Tim, that's an amazing service that you and Mary offer. I'm sure it is very appreciated by the owners.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing the progress on your guitar, JR. And, yes, Tim, you are very fortunate to have Mary...and so is all the rest of the McKnight Guitar family!
