Don't quote me on this, but the significance of the Inlay was from a special guitar that was put on a charity, and Kevin decided to commemorate the guitar with this beautiful inlay.

I'm sure someone can say if Im on the right lines or not!

That inlay was the centerpiece of a guitar that was built to aid in the construction of an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya that I worked on in 2006. The guitar was damaged while in Africa and during one of the flights and some extensive repair was necessary to get it back in shape.

With the damage and subsequent repairs, there was no way to offer for the intended auction or sale as a new guitar so we made a donation personally to the orphanage and the guitar has just sat, unplayed in its case since. After many calls and emails requesting the inlay be repeated on their guitars, my customers inspired a series of 25 of the "Lion Of Judah" inlay. There are only a few of the pieces in the series that are still available at this time.

On that trip, I was damaged as well with two muscles in my shoulder being torn completely off of the bone. After a long and complicated reconstruction of the shoulder and almost two years of rehab and recovery, I was back to work, almost bankrupt from the long layoff and in a deeper backlog situation than I'd ever planned or hoped for.

It's been a difficult road back from there, but I'm making headway and have really appreciated the patience, prayers and understanding of my customers and friends.

Interesting inspirational stories often come out of the most trying times in our lives.

Regards,
Kevin Gallagher

Kevin, thanks for sharing this. The inlay is beautiful and the history behind it is a joy. If your shoulder is not completely healed, I hope that it will be soon.

Blessings,
Bill
