Default McPherson sable is SO PIMP!!

It took me a while but I finally picked up some work shifts, sold my electric drum kit, and bought a Sable.

Beeeeeeeeest decision ever. We'll see if it's puppy love or the real thing, but I could really see selling all my stodgy, warpy, fragile old anachronistic wood guitars (like that dumpy PS16CE) and just having this.

Seriously though. It's set up perfect, it plays terrific, feels awesome. How's it sound? Well... yeah you can sorta hear the carbon fiber still. But just a little.
Mostly it sounds like a wood guitar. I can live with the slight lack of a soul you get from all that xylem and phloem giving color to the sound. I think.
Pretty sure. We'll see.

My woman was heading off to some goth party so I had her pose. Fitting for its nickname "The Bat Guitar."

I have a carbon fiber cowboy hat because... for absolutely no good reason other than this photo. And I thought it would be funny to gig with it and the Sable. Yeah that's a CF pick too.

Cheers guys.

Congrats on the new guitar! And hat. The Sable is a very nice guitar and I have no doubt will continue to impress you.

A little known fact that wood guitar players only discuss in hushed tones: the soul and mojo in a guitar is put there by the player, not the material. Oh, the guitar has to have tone that pleases you, but there are lots of guitars out there that do that. Play the heck out of that new guitar and you will feel the soul.

Phew ! That’s better .

I would further recommend that you get your good lady to pose with any guitars or whatever else that you’d like to show us. . .
Anything at all.

Only cos you’re obviously the better photographer, she didn’t even get your face in !
