Smile B.I.G. FUN

The entire event was a blast. Every instrument I played was VERY VERY NICE.

MAJOR kudos to Tom and Kathy for an amazing experience.

And a big BIG thanks to Ryan Middlebrook for his help with my previously unused video recorder. I hope to get some video uploaded when we get home and recover.... haha

Yay team

Here are some of the lovely people attending B.I.G. this year. I've done my best to identify them for you. If I got some names wrong please send me a PM and I'll get them corrected. Most of these photos are from Sunday. I apologize but I didn't get a photo of everyone.

TomB'sox (our host) and cigarfan starting the morning off with a Bloody Mary!

No offense to the others but this is possibly my favorite photo from the event. Kathy (our hostess) and cigarfan at the Bloody Mary bar.

cigarfan and jt1

An incredible spread for breakfast. Believe when I say, if anyone went hungry it was their own fault.

Ryan (nacluth) and Kevin (Nemoman)

Michael Watts and cigarfan

Jason Kostal and cigarfan (I'm ecstatic to be in the Kostal family)

cigarfan and Bruce Sexauer (got him to actually smile a couple times! Who knew he had a dimple?)

Steve Kinnaird and cigarfan (I'm in his family too!)

More to come .......

Great photos, all! Thannks for sharing them and helping us to convey what a wonderful event Tom and Kathy created and hosted.

Oh, and folks should know that, in person, I’m taller, better looking, and have more hair.

Two of my favorite Kinnaird guitars at the show in the first pic, and that's Joel Teal in the Alabama sweatshirt. That's Jimmy Caldwell in the background in the second photo here. Joel's guitars were a big hit - I didn't talk to anyone who wasn't very impressed. Jimmy brought his personal guitar along for people to experience, and he is another great builder - I hope he is invited to exhibit next year.

Default Kinnaird koa 00

This was one of my very favorite guitars at the show:

A relative plain Jane, I feel like it was unfairly neglected. I hope it sells before I make another trip to Nacogdoches. The temptation is great.

Yes. I agree. It's an elegant little guitar with interesting woods and a beautiful understated style. You should probably go ahead and snap that up before it's gone. I bet it sounds great and plays "like butta"

Thanks for the shout-out Stan. As a starving luthier, I can use all the help I can get. I enjoyed meeting you, my Friend.

I'll be uploading a couple of videos. I'll start with this one from Frog and Toad's evening concert. My battery was dying on my camera, so the ending comes a little quick, but I think you'll get the idea. This is the title track from their second album Soon.

A not-very-good photo of a couple of seriously good guitars by Joel Teel -

I'm not kidding folks, if you want to get in on the ground floor with a future superstar, you should get one of these.

Dennis, you do great portraits - I stole the one of me to use on my FB page. Thank you for recording these and getting faces to put to many of the AGF handles. I wasn't doing a very good job of that myself - you really helped me out.
