Default What custom guitar commissions are you expecting delivery on in 2019?

Amazingly, there are only 2-weeks remaining in 2018 (How did that happen?). I suspect that a number of fellow AGFers have some custom guitar commissions in the queue that we may be lucky enough to see realized here in the AGF Custom Shop throughout next year.

What type of guitar(s) are you expecting and from which luthier(s) will we be seeing here in 2019?

I will added a summary list that I will update from time (for the next few weeks) to time based on responses in this initial post.

I'll be receiving a Mark Hatcher "Greta" (his take on the Grand Auditorium) in Cedar/Cocobolo. You can follow the project in this thread.

Smile John Kinnaird

John Kinnaird is going to start work on my FOURTH JK Custom...

This will be a new body shape for him. 16.75" LB. Western Red Cedar over Spanish Cedar B/S. Like a Jumbo/slope shoulder 12 fret.

12 frets, elevated FB, bevels, port, Manzer Wedge, etc.

A lot going on with this puppy.

Play on gang and have FUN

Paul

A Lowlander model by Tim McKnight. This is his version of a 12 fret 000, but the body dimensions are larger. It will be in German Spruce and Pernambuco with a florentine cutaway and a slotted headstock. I intend to post a build thread when it begins sometime in January.

Some of these were originally slated for delivery this year but have slipped for various reasons. The watching and waiting is part of the fun. In approximate order of expected delivery:

1) Fairbanks Southerner Jumbo (Adirondack spruce/mahogany) - Replica of John Thomas's '43 Gibson SJ.

2) Circa 000-12 cutaway (German spruce/German maple)

3) Brondel A-1 cutaway (Adirondack spruce/pernambuco)

4) Circa OM-18/21 (Adirondack spruce/mahogany)

5) New Era Maurer (Adirondack/koa, Larson 000-12 replica)

6) LeGeyt CLM (Swiss spruce/mahogany)

7) Brondel as yet undefined but possibly spruce/birdseye maple with black lacquer top

Smile 2019 Custom Builds

I have a Baranik electric coming in early 2019. The top will be figured Cocobolo - what else.

I am also lucky enough to live just down the road from Ray Kraut. I got on his build list when he moved to Tucson. My Swiss/Brazilian Kraut 00 (or possibly 0M) will likely take place in late 2019 but could be in early 2020.

Regarding the maker’s list, Joel Austin guitars are made by Dave Philp.
