Default Rebecca's Waltz

Hi all

This is a piece from Al Petteway's new CD (and songbook) The collector's passion - it's a great collection of recordings on some amazing guitars. What I love about it is that it was recorded on an Ipad using simple equipment in a less than perfect room and so shows what can be achieved without super expensive gear.

This particular piece is probably the easiest on the CD, but I love the simplicity of it and the focus again on tone and dynamics.

I initially played this on my cedar/mahogany Stonebridge but moved across to my Avalon in recent days as I felt that it just lent itself to this piece, and that it's sustain and resonance made the most of the ringing notes.

It was also the first recording I have made using my new Audient ID14 interface, which replaced my Scarlett 2i2 - I love the warm but articulate sound it gives me (although it requires better playing and hides no mistakes as you will hear)

Hope you enjoy it and as always, any and all comments and feedback welcome...

Very nice indeed Peter - thanks for sharing. Warm and articulate it is - and surely not just from the interface... .

Fabulous job!! One of my favorites and one I've attempted in past years. Always fun and comforting to play!

Hi Peter,

I truly enjoyed this. It is somewhere between pleasantly mellow and longingly sad. I think that is due to both the original composition and your tender playing. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Cheers

Dave
