Default Custom built Sergei de jong

Hi friends

Just wanted to share pictures of the guitar Sergei is building for me. I have asked Sergei to build out of my absolute favourite tonwoods, Alpine spruce and the great underestimated maple. Sergei had a very nice set of bird's eye maple just waiting for this project so I am very excited to see the finished work.

From the beginning I was thinking of going for a OO smaller size but then changed my mind for an OM with the addition of Manzer wedge and an armrest bevel. I am thinking of installing K&K trinity in it when done. Here are some picture for now. The guitar should be ready within a month/three weeks time.

This is my second guitar from Sergei. What I love about his work is the presence and the strong trebles. A sort of a velvety....full sound across the whole spectrum of the instrument. My first guitar was incredible and this one really just aims to focus on my favourite tonewoods with the additional comfort features of the wedge and the bevel.

I will post a picture of the guitar when it is done and a sound samples.
I am not sure if the image uploading worked...hope it did.

All the best/

This should be fun to follow. I've never seen Sergie's work "in action" although I've played and owned some of his guitars. Looking forward to the pictures.

Thanks for sharing!

Hey Farhad! Thanks for starting this thread! I'm looking forward to seeing pictures as they come
I studied under Sergei and was working on his guitars for him and I must say, I have so much respect for him as a builder and as a person. He is a great guy building fantastic guitars!
