Interesting. I have an Ultimate which works and looks very much like the Hercules and I can see no reason why when these questions arise why there are 10 recommendations for the Hercules to one for the Ultimate. Both are widely available. (FYI, I do have a Hercules stand, but it folds compactly and supports from the bottom.)

Good observation. From using both I have the same question.

A couple of my friends that own Hercules stands have both cautioned me about how easy it is for the stand to pinch if you aren't careful when moving it. Sure enough, one of them tried its best to inflict damage to me! (YMMV, of course...)

I prefer the Vee-shaped yoke on the GS100+ stands as I play several instruments and some instruments like banjos with planetary tuners don't fit the "grabber" of Hercules type stands. Mandolins rattle around in that huge space, too. The Vee shape cradle of the GS100+ fits everything securely.

Default Today’s stand thread

Here it is again. Here I go again:

I feel like I have two of the best stands one can have. They’re ____________ stands, of course, and they’re great in every way.

There. I’ve saved everyone the trouble of ignoring the name.

Good luck finding one you love. You’ll love it when you find it.
