Otterhound, I'm not sure if I'm going, but if I do go, I'll note the number of left handed guitars.

I haven't gone in a long while, When I did go, it was strongly geared towards electrics and cheaper acoustics. I did snag a neat CD of Hawaiian music there once.

I went many years ago.
Bring your earplugs at that time there were lots of wannabe rockers "trying out" guitars and amplifiers at max volume. One vendor had a old L-50 that I was interested in but it was dirty the strings were rusted and was unplayable. I spent a few minutes on a quick bridge adjustment. It seemed the vendor was more interested in selling a $200 electric then a $1000 acoustic so I walked away. Not all vendors were like that. I may go just to see if anything changed.

You know, Karen, not all guitar shows are like the Woodstock show. The Woodstock show is one of the premier shows in the country.
I just went to the Long Island Guitar Expo. It was all electric with a display of Taylors that had a waiting line to try one. I was in and out in about 15 minutes, but at least it was nearby. You might be in for a long drive for not much. We are lucky to have the Woodstock show right in our backyard. |
