As an alternative method to geokie8's, you could bypass scanning a hard copy printout, and instead (while in Word) print to PDF. Import that PDF into most any image editing application (like Photoshop).
Using Photoshop as an example, after importing the PDF, you'll be presented with a dialog asking you to specify dimensions, resolution, color mode etc. Save the resulting rasterized PDF out of Photoshop as a JPEG and you're good to go. |

Because of the firewall at work I cannot access You Tube.
I started listening and playint Eagles songs from the beggining. For those that only have Greatest Hits type CD's many great songs are missing. If you are not familiar with the entire story, the album Desperado is like a country rock version of Tommy or the Wall...it is a story. To me, the best part of the Desperado song is contained in the reprise which follows Doolin Dalton on the album. I'm go to try and past the lyrics below. Well the stage was set, the sun was sinkin' low down… As they came to town to face another showdown… The lawmen cleared the people from the street All you blood thirsty bystanders Will you try to find your seat.. Watchin' em doolin' Doolin Daltons High or Low, It's all the same Easy Money, Faithless Women Who will never kill the pain…. Go down Bill Doolin, don't you wonder why Sooner or later we all have to die Sooner or later, that's a stone cold fact Four men ride out and only three ride back (fades and then starts Deperado Reprise w/ a great resonator piece) The Queen of Diamonds let you down She was just an empty fable The Queen of Hearts, you say you've never met Your twisted fate has found you out And its finally turned the table Stole your dreams and paid you with regret Desperado.. [Is there gonna' be anything left, Is there gonna to be anything] You sealed your fate a long time ago… [Ain't it hard when your all alone in the center ring] Now there's no time left to borrow [Is there gonna' be anything left] Only stardust, Maybe maybe tomorrow.. Maybe tomorrow….. Desperado..[9x] As you can see, the part actually tells the ending to the story. It is pure musical greatness in my opinion.

Thanks for that suggestion, jayelcee
I have an ancient version of WORD ( 6.0 I think ). I'll check and see if it has a print to pdf option. Quote:

I just realized the Fmadd4 can be fingered a few different ways and might be frustrating. The easiest -- and it also sounds the best in the song -- is to bar the first fret with your index finger and hit the D string, 3rd fret, with your ring finger. The Gmadd4 is identical but two frets higher.
Let me know if there's anything else you have trouble with. You can always PM me. geokie8

F minor add 4. I play my F chord as a barre chord using an E form ( I have short fingers and don't do thumb wrap ) To make an F minor I lower the 3rd a half step- by raising my middle finger. So, I have the 1st fret barred across all 6 strings with my index finger and my ring is on string 5, fret 3 my pinky is on string 4, fret 3 Now, how do I get the added 4th ?....I says to myself. Let's see, F-G-A-B - if my music theory is right then the 4th note would be a B. I look to see where I can ADD the 4th ( B note ). - the 3rd string 4th fret is the only place within reach that I see. So, I can refinger my original F minor with my middle and ring - to free up my pinky to fret the 3rd string , 4th fret to get the added B note. What am I missing ? If I play the D string (4th string) at the 3rd fret as you mention - that is an F note and part of the original Fm - I don't see where an added 4th B note comes into play that way. - Larry

Your thought processes were right, but the add 4 is a Bb, not a B. Equivalent to an A#. It's true that the ring finger is doubling the F note, but by eliminating your pinky and replacing it with your ring finger, you are adding the Bb on the 5th (A) string.
Some variations of the song add a 6th rather than a 4th to the minor chord (Cm6 in the key of G, Fm6 in the key of C) and that might be the way the Eagles do it. I just think the add 4 is much easier to play and actually a little easier to sing too (for me anyway). geokie8

It may seem hackneyed to some, but it still gives me shivers when I hear it, or even just run it back in my memory. I've always thought the album was one of the great underrated concept albums of the '70s.
