Lr baggs pickups
Like many of you out there, I have a couple of pickups sitting around that I removed. I am wanting to put one in the yamaha Fg-830 that I bought my son. Which do you think is the better baggs pickup- the Lyric or the Anthem SL?

The SL, hands down. Now I do own a Lyric, and it is "ok," and not really my main plug-in guit anyway, so there I went. But the Anthem SL is a two-pup system that blends the mic (Lyric) with the UST. The Lyric will yield you:
- more gain before feedback. - better bass; not merely more of it, but better, tighter bass tone. - an overall tone that will require less sculpting to get it to sound good in the house. - if one plays loud or with a full band, the SL kills the Lyric, period. Edward |

I’d go with the SL as well.

Yes, i agree the Anthem SL is better because it is a Lyric PLUS something else (UST), but the Lyric is quite good and 2/3 the price. realize the anthem SL if bought new and installed will likely cost more than the FG830 itself.

Yes I realize that. I have it in a box now, having took it out of my j45 a few years ago. The true mic in a Lyric is larger than the one in the anthem. But I believe in you guys…will give him the anthem. And I apologize for posting this in the wrong place

I only tried their element piezo pickup. It's very convenient and friendly for installing, but too quack. I then switch to Highlander IP-2 which I think sound more natural (still quack but less) however very tricky for installation.
