I totally agree with beninma's post #15. Well, almost totally. There is at least one online guitar instruction outfit that teaches to recognize pivot fingers that are left in place during chord changes. Here's an example (start at about 4:18), but he points this out for every chord progression that he teaches:

I find this to be very interesting. I gotta admit that often I enjoy noodling more than playing a famous song. Working through these lessons stretches my technique, my chops, and my noodling vocabulary. |
