Default Heart of Saturday Night - A cover of Tom Waits' classic beauty

Hey everyone!

Finally got around to recording something again. Been a while, busy with work and life. You know how it is.. :/

But here is my humble cover of one of the first fingerstyle songs i ever learned, and the song that introduced me to the incredible Tom Waits.

Hope you guys like it and maybe leave a comment or a thumbs up/down on the video on youtube, so maybe a few more people watch it and give feedback

Have a great day guys

Default Great job!

Thanks for sharing this beautiful song. I've never heard it before, but I'm sure your version would do Tom Waits proud. I'm definitely going to look into learning it (and listening to more from Tom Waits). What tuning are you using?

Mahalo!

It's usually just in drop d tuning but i have my guitar tuned down a whole step for a better vocal performance from myself. And thank you so much for the kind words! You put a smile on my face

Beautiful! Thank you so much. Love your voice. What is the tuning you're using?

It's a drop d tuning, but the rest of the guitar tuned down a whole step first. So i guess it's a drop c tuning

Great job! I, too, have played this lovely song 1,000 times and never tire of it. You do this song justice.

That was fantastic. I learned to fingerpick this song a couple of years ago and forgot how much fun it is to play. Wish I could sing like you can. Thanks for sharing this!

It's so much fun and such a lovely melody. And I don't think I'm much of a singer. It took at lot of hard work to get to the place i'm at now and i'm still improving over time.. But a long way to go, still! I reckon, that if I could improve and get to have a decent singing voice, compared to how I used to sound (Trust me when I say it was very bad!) then anyone can :-)

Marc,

I just listened again and gave you a "like" on YouTube.

The playing and vocal are both very nice. I'd love to know what you did to improve your signing as much as you say. I'm working on mine, and I sense it getting better, but I lack a plan. I should probably get a teacher, but I've got all my time and money tied up in guitar

Keep it up!
