Default New nut

My first try at a repair. Shaping, slotting and installing a new nut on the square neck.

Overall I think it’s not too bad for an amateur attempt. IMG_1614446502.339456.jpgIMG_1614446524.488246.jpgIMG_1614446536.093079.jpgIMG_1614446542.726766.jpg

Default A thought

Does the nut's radius match the fingerboard's radius?

I could not find any information specific to a nut for a squareneck, but I assume that it is irrelevant (?) as the strings sit a good half inch over the fingerboard.

To facilitate slide playing, the nut and saddle should be flat......no radius.

I always do a flat top nut when setting them up as a slide guitar
