Default using aluminum sheet metal to cover a bending iron

Like many of you, I had difficulty with certain metals staining woods I bended. The simple solution I found was to take think aluminum sheet metal and wrap this around the pipe... keeping the joint (overlap) of the sheet metal on the down side of the pipe. A large diameter automotive hose clamp worked great to hold the sheet metal in place against the pipe..
