A friend of mine suggested putting super glue over the calluses. Especially if you’re going to be playing for an extended period of time. He said it protects the fingertips, creates a “flat” surface, and gradually wears off with time. Anyone else try this?

I keep a piece of 120 grit sandpaper in my case to have when I need to take care of callous ridges. Works great.
