Default Red-Eye vs. Archangel X7

Hi.

I currently own the Red-eye preamp to go with my K&k mini.
I have a chance to buy the Archangel X7 but I can't try it before I buy it. How does it compare to the Red-eye?

To the best of my knowledge, Archangel is no longer in business.
Jesse at JJB recommends their preamps highly for his K and K style pickups.

I own both the Red Eye and Archangel and both are good sounding preamps.
There is more eq options with the Archangel and it may be an advantage in certain situations. I use the Red Eye because it sounds as good or better and it"s plug and play.

Having owned both, I much prefer the Red-Eye.

The Red-Eye is simple, streamlined and does exactly what it needs to do (for me) and nothing extra. I rarely find myself wishing for more EQ option, although I could see how that could be an issue for some people in certain situations

For what it is worth, I also use the Red-Eye with mandolin.
