Default Boss effects on the ve8

i have the ve8 pedal. i really like the effects this pedal
produces but am a bit unhappy with the limited eq.
is there a smallish pedal boss makes that has
the same multi effects i could run through
the loop on my felix preamp?

I believe that, but they are insanely annoying to access. I love my Boss VE-8 but those EQ settings are borderline unusable--entirely so in a live setting, at least for me.

To the OP, I'm unaware of that kind of device unfortunately.

it has an eq i'll grant that but it has a limited
Q and frequency adjust no real sweeping
capability. and an annoying string sparkle if you
will.. but i love the effects. I might try the felix
into the ve8 .. hopefully keep my gain stage under
control.

Page 14 of the Boss VE8 manual has the settings you want! See your manual or download it - I copied the section for you below, but the graphics didn't come with it! You can see what it has here though. It all looks rather terrifying to use in a live environment, especially if you prefer setting with knobs like me, and I have never used it. I was thinking of buying a simple MXR 10 knob EQ pedal for just the guitar, but your Grace would be way better....

P.S. if you make a loop, you can adjust the eq for a test on the fly....hands free!

EQ/Noise Suppressor Settings
You can adjust the EQ (equalizer) setting as appropriate
for the characteristics of your mic and guitar.
1. Hold down the [EXIT] button and press the [LOOP]
pedal.
The [LOOP] pedal is lit purple; the VE-8 is in EQ setting mode.
2. Use 1 – 8 (See figure below), to set the value.
5 Turn the knob to set the value
5 Press the button and then use the [?][=] buttons to set the

yea ..thanks ..i've read the manual. And again
it (the ve8) is limited. let's say you want
to scoop the mid. well you have a choice
you can adjust 800 1.5 k or 1.8 k (don't quote me on these numbers just throwing them out as an example).. what if i want to adjust 950 hz
I can't it doesn't have that option. The Q is the same
what if i want a .75 angle on my Q adj .. not there.
Low cut? what if i want 125 hz... not an option.,
So yea it's usable
but limited. But back to my OP. anyone know
what effects boss uses in the Ve8?

I had a VE-8 .. tried to like it...
But it had way too many compromises on just about everything on it.
The hidden menus drove me crazy too.

The Boss AD-2 Acoustic Preamp pedal has the Acoustic resonance, Notch and Ambiance features.

What about the Boss AD units? These have similar effects and lots of EQ options. The new AD-10 looks great and the old AD-8 is good also.

I have an older AD-5 that still works grest. It has chorus and reverb. Both are good effects.

Also why not add the Boss EQ pedal before it! I think it is the GE-7.

I love the EQ on my VE8. It’s just hard to remember how to get to it. The EQ itself is really good though: Three bands with sweepable mid, variable Q, high pass filter...what’s not to like?
