Default Martin Saddle Height

Hello everyone,

I’m posting to see what others think of the saddle height/protrusion on my guitar. I replaced the original saddle with a bone saddle, and lowered it from the original height to get a lower action. The saddle protrusion is currently 4/32 on the low E side and 3/32 on the high E side, with the action at 3/32” and the string height at .5” above the soundboard. Please let me know if you think I have enough saddle height above the bridge.

Mr.Colosi at guitarsaddles.com has a long standing reputation of providing quality saddles that are drop in.

If you are like me and prefer to make your own saddles out of a blank, http://www.guitarpartsandmore.com/ma...ddle-Blanks-35
is a good site. free shipping in the US too IIRC.

String height above the top is more important, and you are right at the ideal (1/2"). You must have a thick bridge. A 'normal' 11/32 bridge would make your saddle height 5/32 with the same action.
