Any Paul Reed Smith players out there?
I just got a 2002 PRS Custom22 10 Top with moons and McCarty switching last week. I am astounded at how cool this guitar is. It has spoken to me much the way my Taylor 810 does. Anyone else PRS enabled out there?

Hey Tom...welcome to the PRS club. I got mine in 93..a Tobacco Sunburst Custom 22 w/ bird inlays, top 10 with the back cover signed by Paul. It's still in perfect condition. I've played it onstage many times. I love it !!!

I can see why everyone really digs them. I got the wide-fat neck and really love it. Far more comfortable than my Stratocaster neck (so far). Seems there is less hand strain. And that Trem system is oh so cool.

Custom 24, Black Cherry, quilted 10 top, trem, birds, regular neck. WOW. The only problem is keeping the top smudge-free; with the dark red, fingerprints, smudges dull the look a bit. I know, major crisis!

Got two, Custom 22 tabaco busrt with birds and a CE-24 blue metallic. To me they are to electrics what Taylors are to acoustics. Darn nice guitars.

Tom, I'd have to agree with you. Mr PRS makes some fine instruments. I bought a whale blue CU22 with moons and liked it so much I went out and bought a CU22 soapbar in tortoise with birds. The soapy is a sweet guitar. Then for balance, since I own three Taylors, I got a Hollowbody I with piezo in violin amberburst with birds. That guitar is simply exquisite. My custom has a wide/thin neck, which seems faster to me than the regular D on the soapy. But the soapy's neck is so comfortable. The Hollowbody had a wide/fat, which suits that guitar to a T.
Thanks to Bob T and Paul S, I'm in guitar nirvana. I guess I'll be seeing you there too. |

I have a 1991 Black Cherry PRS... flame 10 top, bird inlays, Braz Rosewood fretboard, sweet switch.
What an effortless guitar to play. Almost infinite sustain and fantastic tone. I agree that PRS's are the elctric equivalent to Taylors. Rodger |

I had a goldtop McCarty, rosewood neck for a while. A great guitar, but I decided I had too many electrics and I wanted more Taylors and this one had the highest resale value. I hope to get another McCarty, maybe with soapbar pickups some day. PRS does make great guitars, the Taylor of electrics.
