I dont know how UPS do it,but they seem to work wonders whn it suits them.

We had guitars two weeks ago make it to their customers quicker than the ones to be delivered here in ireland (that left at the same time).

Best not to dwell on the intermediate waypoints and wait for the magic words, "out for delivery". At least it is a CF guitar and you don't have to worry about the climate conditions it sees along the way. I long ago gave up trying to figure out parcel routing and even the routing of passenger flights. That way lies madness....

Cargo carriers consolidate international packages into hub airports where they have their own customs inspection and sorting facilities.

Cargo manifests are transmitted to custom authorities and risk assessed before loading the plane. Inspectors are ready when it lands.

Carriers avoid congested and expensive airports like London, New York, Toronto, etc.
