Part 4 - Peghead Inlay.

The goal was to come up with a special inlay design to honor Brayden's birth. Many, many, many ideas came and went but we settled on the Celtic Tree concept. A few versions later and the design was set. This design was so intricate I decided to work with the fine folks at Pearlworks to make the design a reality. Boy, am I glad I did. Some MOP and Gold MOP - added some engraving and the result was beautiful.

Computer concept and rough inlay:

Sanded to 320 and put back on the CNC for the indexing, truss rod access cut out and shape scored.

Positioning for gluing down

Final result. Can't wait to see this under finish.

Thanks for saying. They did do an amazing job right. I'm thoroughly impressed with the accuracy, and the engraving is spot on.

Part 5 - remaining build and Finish

Here is the final result of the soundport. It's kind of a pinwheel flower design

Body is ready for finish

Shiny Time.

Back on the bench

Bridge pin choices. I love the pins I get from Bob Colosi at Custom Guitar Saddles. Dylan chose the Fozzalized walrus. (B String).

BRW bridge which will match the color tone of the Sinker Redwood when polished with some linseed oil/bees wax. And you may have noticed the 3/16 saddle blank. The extra 1/16 allows more room for perfect intonation. However, I do offer both 1/8 and 3/16.

Now for the Glamour shots

This build was quite the journey. I expanded my skill set, work methods, and like many builds, ...New Jigs. Special thanks to Dylan for the opportunity, his input, vision and patience.

Thanks for following

Patrick

My goodness...Would LOVE to hear this. The only guitar I have played with this tonewood combo was very memorable. Hope to hear sound clips. Great photos, as well.
