Martin's Backpacker might do. It's the only other use (besides as an oar) that thing really has.

If you look for it you can find the full song ("New York") and then this event at the end. At the end of THAT video the guy who is interviewed in this one looking surprised that he was hit with the bass makes the beginning of his statement...which changes the whole perspective. He says that he "meant to cause physical harm" to Syd and "he knew it" and "I was ugly about it". This guy deserved it.

I am thinking of something like a National Duolian or a comparable one from another brand. They proved their worth in many a fight during the 30's.

Back in the '70s, Andy Powell, lead guitarist of Wishbone Ash, watched an assault begin right in front of him at a concert. He jumped down off the stage with his Gibson Flying V and beat off the assailant.

It's still his weapon of choice, lo' these many years later.

I originally thought this thread was a joke but stuff just got serious!

The OP might want to reconsider those retirement home gigs.

A Telecaster... maple neck (bolted on) with an ash body... a formidable weapon that can be used from either end with great effect...

The off-brand jumbo that my mom bought me for a 15th birthday present would have worked. Plywood glued together with Elmer's glue! Since the action was high enough for small children to walk under and the intonation was way off anyway, the resulting damage might be an improvement!
