It was hyped as a big deal around here, but it was just a few inches of snow like we get several times a year during the winter.

Normal.

Why are you calling it a name like it's a hurricane?

All week, they were telling us we were right on the line where it would be rain and snow. That's exactly what happened. For us, it rained all day and then turned to snow. A little north of us got a lot of snow and the folks to the south got mostly rain.

But all I hear are folks saying the forecast was wrong because they weren't listening.

Hard to tell how much we actually got so far with the drifting. Have a 3 ft drift against my back door. I think we have half of that in actual snow from what I've already shoveled. Temp also dropped from 18 to 8 in the last 2 hours. My humidity has been in the upper 40's so far, but with the cold coming and the heat bumping on I guess it's time to humidify the guitars in their cases.

Yes, but here many said "finally" because we had another one of the crazy winter thaw times 2+ weeks ago.

Our ski club facility is recording shorter seasons and more challenges with grooming and snowmaking but yesterday it was normal winter. The PistenBully was busy, Nordic groomers busy, and our first run of the fat bike groomer for the season.

My left knee's doing as good a job as the thermometer letting me know it's cold out.

Our area has had a lot of influx from other places and I believe that's part of the new noise and labeling for winter. My drive across the metro area Friday evening made it really clear that many are not experienced winter drivers.

All rain here in mid-Maryland. But, snow was never a big concern. The real problem comes in an hour or two with the wind and accompanying ultra-cold temperatures.

Not a great pic, but it's kind of gloomy out there;

We had about 16'' so far and it's still snowing. It's not the nice light powdery stuff they predicted. It's the heavy stuff that's a lot of work to move.

Took much longer than usual, but I guess that's what can happen when you have a house in snow country.

I think it's coming to an end right about now; 3 pm. I'll get out with a shovel and clean up the last few inches.

We got hit with about a foot of snow.
I literally almost passed out cleaning it all.
I need to pace myself next time.
Getting older is no fun..

About 8" of fine, powdery snow here...winds were howling last night, we did actually opt to stay in and take a loss on some AHL tickets to avoid taking the kids out...pretty sure it was the right decision. First really cold night of the year tonight, but that won't stop me from checking out the SUPER WOLF BLOOD MOON!

I missed a front row seat for Tommy Emmanuel on Saturday night. Didn't want to dare the roads into/back form Boston. In the end, the snow didn't start getting bad until later, but it was too late to change my mind by the time I realized it.
