Default K Yairi YW600

Up for grabs is my late 70ís (believe itís a 1978) K Yairi YW600 - the abalone monster (haha). This is a terrific sounding dread, with volume and overtones galore - spruce top, and what Yairi refers to as Ďcoralí rosewood. This was one Kazuo Yairi put out under his own name for the Japan market, although I believe there was an Alvarez-Yairi equivalent.

Itís held up well for a 40 year old instrument - but it is by no means a case queen. Various small marks and dings on the top (and a couple on the back) and a scratch just above the pick guard. The paper label in the sound hole has gone missing, but it has the serial embossed inside on the neck heel. Mild fret wear (just barely visible on the top 3 frets). But no cracks or breaks - bring this one out and leave the Martin at home!

Also comes with a somewhat roadworn but extremely sturdy hardshell case (somewhat hefty too - no fiberboard here!)

Trades arenít likely, but I never say never -$695 gets this one to your door

Gallery here with closeups -

Beauty !
But It's said that it has non-rosewood back & sides.
Wonder if you will put out closeups of back & sides ?

Some back and side pics. I can almost guarantee that this one is laminated back/sides - but Yairi did laminates better than just about anyone

I don't usually care for blingy guitars, but it all works with this one, for some reason. Beautiful guitar!

I have an old Yairi myself, a 1976, and it is the most bullet-proof guitar I've ever owned. They are rugged, that's for sure.

GLWS, if I had some spare $$$ laying around I'd grab this one.
