Really appreciate the comments and for Jeff finding that YouTube clip.
If I were you, I would keep it, rather than raising or lowering the price. I have had mine out twice on consignment, and both times realized what a mistake that was, and took it back home. My reason for wanting to sell was that I am more comfortable with a smaller guitar, not that a 000 is all that big though.

There is nothing like a Kelday, and it would be difficult and quite expensive to replace once you realized what you had done and wanted it back.

These are truly fine instruments and most folks in the US have no idea what a "Kelday" is, so its value here would not be what it might be to somebody in Europe who understood Kelday's stature among one person shop, handmade guitars. I have come to realize just what I have here in my Kelday, and am suggesting you seriously consider that too, before somebody does decide to snap it up. Even Kelday, on his site, says that the 000 is his "preferred guitar", and that is what you have.

Tony, I appreciate your comments and trust me this is a tough one. To use an analogy - I want to buy a horse, I find a beautiful one, it meets all of the visual criteria and is well credentialed. Then when I ride it I realize I have a thoroughbred and the horse really wants to race, but I'm not a jockey. What I'm saying is this guitar can do far more than I'm capable of. This guitar needs a capable jockey.

Thought I might have had her sold over the weekend but alas.....not so. She is still available. Any guitar jockey's out there!!! LOL

Well, good luck with your sale. There are many fine guitars available these days, so if you get the itch again in the future and can't find another Kelday, there are many others in that league.

Well, have a few looking but no commitments at this time. Figured to go ahead and open up to trades. Trade with significant cash addition or straight up trade.

Here is a youtube clip of Tony McManus playing his Kelday 000...

Maybe that will help put the OP's guitar in perspective.

Thanks for the mention Tony! I suppose if the headstock said Collings or Santa Cruz folks would be falling over themselves with these special woods and construction. Let alone the tone. This is not a Celtic guitar. It can play anything and even strums like a dream.

I just figured that with some "star power", the guitar might have more validity in some prospective buyer's eyes.

Looking at the pictures of your guitar, I noticed that the top seems to be really clear, very nice looking. Mine has "bearclaw". People tell me that is supposed to be a good thing, but to me it kinda looks like something is wrong with the top. I have gotten used to it, but I still like a nice clean top like your Kelday seems to have.

Anyway, I figure we might as well chat about Kelday guitars, since that keeps your ad thread up top with more meaningful and Kelday-related information than simply posting another boring "bumpity-bump".

Congrats on moving this guitar. Looks like a beauty. Can't imagine how the new owner won't love it, but just in case, hope it was traded to someone closer to me so it might be able to try it out one day.
