Default Peter Jackson - New Beatles Film

Apparently Peter Jackson has been given access to 55 hours of never-before-seen footage and 140 hours of audio from the 1969 'Let It Be' sessions.

Yet another Beatles archive!

Speaking as a Beatles nerd this is not a bad thing...

I watched "Let it Be" the movie on youtube a few weeks ago. Was shocked it was even there, hadn't seen it for decades.

Cool for us but...…

If you're not a musician or gear head, it might be rather boring.

My wife wouldn't care to watch it at all.

I'm sure PJ will do a good job, but I'd prefer something from the era when the band wasn't at each others' throats and ready to break up.

The Beatles were amazing in every way. But I grew up with the Beatles and that's a long time. I think I know more about the Beatles than I even desired to know. I find even if I'm bored there is no reason for me to read about the Beatles as there isn't much if any new information. So I just let it be

Default I will SO be there

Peter Jackson has proven himself time and again as someone who can tackle a subject and do it justice.
When I was young the Beatles hit, but I didn't count myself as a fan. I was all into Dylan and Zappa. It wasn't 'til after they broke up that I figured out they really WERE that good.
I ask young people these days who their Beatles is, and while the premise isn't a fair one--the world is a very different one--no one has a good, solid answer. There is no one that has the variety, the quality, the output, and the ability not to just be a part of the zeitgeist, but to pretty much author their time's zeitgeist.
From a guitarist's standpoint, they have upwards of a hundred songs that are great to play and sing, so by that measure they are also exceptional.
Yeah...I'll be there to watch this. You bet I will.

If Peter Jackson does as good a job as he did with the WWI footage, it will be an interesting watch.
