Default How to "fix" end pin after removing pickup from J45?

Hi,

I recently removed the Baggs Element on my 2007 Gibson Modern Rosewood J45, and now I need to figure out how to fix the end pin. The StewMac NoJak is one option, but I really would like just to reuse the end pin from the pickup, so is it possible to buy just a screw of some sort that can go on the inside of the guitar while I still use the same end pin as before?

So if there was some way to make it pretty much the same as it was before, just without all the "stuff to the left" (pickup, cables etc.):

Thanks for your help!
Hans

Yes, I mentioned the NoJak in my post - I'm looking for a different solution

Sorry - I should have read closer before posting. So if I understand your question, you want to still use the end pin jack, but not the pre-amp core?

In that case you could probably visit a hardware store and find some lamp parts and/or miscellaneous screws of the same OD and thread size. The strap part of the endpin (external to the guitar) simply screws onto the barrel of the pre-amp. You could probably even re-use the jam nut and washers from your pre-amp.

If you take the pickup nut to a hardware store, I'm sure you could find a bolt to fit it...is that what you mean? Or do you mean a "dummy" input jack?

Sounds like you just want a dummy jack. You can buy a drop in jack from Switchcraft. Also other options in the link.

Taylor makes a nice metal expandable strap pin screw to fit the 1/2" hole left from prior endpin jacks, but, as mentioned above, you can just buy an empty endpin jack for super cheap and use that.

Yes! That's exactly what I'm after. Could you point me to the specific jack I need from all the options in the link?

Hello Hans,
The original was developed and patented by Larry Fishman.

You can buy them at various sites, and presently they're called 'Switchjack', but no matter how many terminals they have, they all go in the same size hole and have the same 'beauty ring' where the guitar strap is suppose to fit onto........another story altogether.

Here's an Amazon offering, for instance:https://www.amazon.com/Fishman-Jack-...s=fishman+jack

Regards,

Thanks Howard! So I guess this one here would be an exact match?

And would this, cheaper, Ernie Ball also work?

Bob Colosi also sells a plug that will fit the end pin hole and looks very good.

Hopefully the end pin was installed at the factory or by a pro as amateur may not use the standard size drill bit.
