It does sound remarkably good for its size, as does the Lava.

Somewhat of a timely thread that goes with the other "Why did you buy, or consider, your Carbon Fiber?" thread. Years ago before my first CF guitar I was at an outdoor event and I heard a guy playing a black composite uke. He was a heck of a player and the uke really got my attention. I commented on the tone and told him it sounded really good. He then said thanks and that the instrument was actually a "flukelele"

That was part of the catalyst for my interest in the material sound wise. Then I saw Jarvis with "The Guitar Spa" and his video on the Shorty (as well as our very own Kramster) and I was sold on that guitar. About a year later I owned one.
