Default Best ultraportable busking seat

Hi there - starting a monthly gig where I go from room to room in hospitals, and i'd like to be able to sit while I play. what's an ultra-portable seat that people have had success with?

I'm thinking a drum throne with backrest and wheels. The one shown below doesn't have wheels but you get the idea...

This is the one I use. Folds up for carry and very comfortable.

thanks RP - looking for something much lighter - like maybe one of those stools with a handle (cane) integrated anyone tried one?

If you are just going room to room an inexpensive armless rolling office chair might be something you want to consider. Most of them can be adjusted for seating height and posture. Rolling it from room to room might be easier than carrying another type of chair.
Back packing chairs are ultralight but may not provide the same level of comfort and support

I have a cane with a "split" handle that folds down to make a seat. It is more of a prop for standing than a seat you can relax in. It does require a good sense of balance and a little bit of concentration (especially on a smooth surface) but might work for you.

Russ's suggestion or a regular plastic folding chair are good options. It depends on what your playing through too. A lot of guys that use Cube Streets and Street Cube ex's just sit directly on them. Light weight and portability are far more important than comfort in a job like this.

I have no suggestion for a seat, but want to congratulate you for that generous effort on your part.
From time to time, I play at a local nursing home with a local pick-up group, and there is no more appreciative an audience. My only concern, which intensifies every year, is that, sometime, they may not let me leave.

Possibly a camping stool for maximum ease to fold/lightness

I use one of these ... $15 from Walmart. Be careful about seating height ... this one is just a couple inches lower than I'd like, but it sure is portable.

My duo partner and I played a local nursing home. He was 76 at the time. On the way in I told him to get his hand stamped. "Why?", he asked. "So they let you out later".

At the same event, a very, very old woman was apparently smitten by Jim. "I think she likes you", I said. "Why me?" "You're young!"

Congrats on giving back!!! Not to brag ,but my brother and I do the hospital thing once a week. We go room to room but we stand and play using a regular guitar strap. Never did like them still don't ,can't play as well as if I'm sitting, but at least you don't have to carry a stool. Keep up the nice work!!!

Title said busking. I was going to recommend one of those coaching seats made out of a 5 gallon bucket. The lid has a cushion on it. You can put gear in the bucket. But for a hospital situation, that is different. I own a three legged fold up camp stool.

Check out the bass fiddle seats at Gollihur bass. Our band uses two of the models. Sturdy, adjustable height and comfortable.
