Default Original Instrumental

Thought I'd share something I wrote a few months ago. An old girlfriend asked me to write a song about something I had said in an email to her. I said, "How about an instrumental? (I'm not a singer or lyricist)" She said that would be great. So here it is. Nothing like an old flame to get the creative juices flowing

Recorded with an SM-81 with a little echo mixed in from a Digitech RP355 multieffects processor.

Very nice tune and playing Scott! Recording sounded good too, Which guitar were you using? By the way where have you been since 2003?

That sounds nice, Scott. I typically don't like effects on solo guitar (other than a little reverb), but the echo was okay on this track and was only noticeable in a few places. I enjoyed listening to it.

Thanks for sharing. I agree with Bob that the echo effect around 1:38 especially works well and was a nice touch.

Thanks for taking the time to listen! I appreciate your comments. I failed to mention in my post that I was playing the Santa Cruz OM on that. I used to be very much a purist about acoustic guitar and effects - my goal was always to attain perfect sonic reproduction of the instrument. But mostly what that got me was frustrated, since it probably isn't possible (at least at my skill level). Now my goal is to try to achieve something that sounds pleasing, making use of the right effect in moderation. But when playing electric, bring on the effects!
