Default Dave Matthews Cover and Tim Reynolds cover

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHe7eX2rrqk

That's the Tim Reynolds one. It has a lot of small mistakes, and parts that I had to play slower, but compare it to the original and its not bad.

the origonal (its live but he plays it the same way everytime :

And here's the DMB one

The one I based it off of:

This one has less mistakes, but I kind of noodled for the ending. Just ignore it.

You're working on some pretty sophisticated strumming and riffs. That takes time. I'm not familiar with either original but to my ear it sort of sounds like you're stuck between finger style and traditional playing. What I mean is that when you strum chords sort of repetitively, my ear wants to hear vocals. If you don't want to sing then you need to play more melody notes to carry the tune. Hope that makes sense. HEY I really like the noodling starting at the 3 minute mark of the Dave Matthews cover that was good.

Yeah since I don't want to sing (its not that I don't think I would be good at it I just don't like it.) I'm trying to make a transition to more of a lead/ solo player. The tim reynolds one was my first real project. I thought it would take me much longer to get the hang of. (Not that I have a complete grasp on it yet) I would much rather watch and listen to a solo guitarist that doesn't sing than a whole band any day. Therefore, thats what I'm working towards. I flatpick, fingerpick (some) and strum. I want to be good at all 3.
