Default couple of good old love songs....

I started my Sunday morning recording session back up this past weekend....hadn't had the gear hooked up since last winter.

First a Keith Carradine song from "Nashville" that some of you may remember...

http://www.box.net/shared/qp07bna0ca

and next a Michael Johnson song from the early 80's.....

http://www.box.net/shared/yyxubsp24x

These were with my Webber cedar/mahogany Roundbody into an AKG C214 and vocals into a Shure Beta 87A (both upgrades recently, so I'm just getting used to them)
They are run directly into a Tascam DP01-FX with just a little reverb.

For anyone trying to listen to these I had to go to "Play" twice to get them to play. Could be just my connection. Who knows?

Nice job on the songs. Got that old 70s sound down nice!

it may just be because there is a bit of silence at the beginning of each one.....I normally record them that way.

And yes, I had lots of practice DURING the 70's - LOL

Thanks for the kind words....

The first time I click on "play" the little popup player shows a website link. The second time I click on play the file starts playing and the popup player shows buttons (play, pause, volume etc....). That's what I meant.

I like them both but really like "Give Me Wings". Thanks, always a treat to listen to your recordings.

Fine singing and guitar playing. And the recording was very well done. Thanks for sharing.

Man, I really love your playing, it sounds great. Never heard of Michael Johnson, but "I'm Easy" is a really nice song. Like how you add a second voice on the chorus to the songs, too - really adds to them and it's mixed very nicely.

By the way - the first link links to the second song, the second song links to "Give Me Wings" - the Carradine song is missing, I think..?

thanks for the comments.....

oddly enough I was just working on re-recording these after a member pointed some things out in these. I'll post them tonight or tomorrow.

You may remember Michael Johnson from "Bluer than Blue, sadder than sad, you're the only light this empty room has ever had, life without you is gonna be Bluer than Blue"

Give Me Wings was from his shortlived country phase in the mid to early 80's.

I'm not sure about the links, they seem to be correct for me.....

Tried them today and they play right off the bat. Probably just my internet connection. Good luck with the re-recordings.....
