It is easy for me to say that the primary influence on all of my guitar purchases is can be attributed to the AGF. Maybe my Martin Forum guitar (0018vs) is mor connected to the UMGF, but so many folks participate in both forums, …. , even that guitar can be the result of AGF member influence. Capos, strings, picks, and stands too. No getting around the influence the Forum has had on me. Not just objects either. Approach to research, new music I have been introduced to, and more. Guess a bit of thanks is due in this post.

Jeff

There are many very knowledgable folks on AGF and I take their recommendations seriously. Glad I do. Otherwise I wouldn’t have either of my guitars (see sig). Keep recommending AGF. I’m listening.

I'm glad I didn't let the AGF influence me.

Love my SJ-200.

Exactly! And it's been a revolving door for guitars at my house since I joined here.

Well I definitely bought a 00015SM as a direct result of joining this forum. I foolishly sold it but it did allow me to buy my Larrivee which I like equally well. If it wasn’t for this forum I never would have even thought of a Larrivee. So thanks.

I had to ask my dearly beloved and all she said was "Enough already...".

I count up to 8 but there may be others lying around......

One. Lowden O-32. Fantastic guitar, but large. Downsized to a McIlroy A30c. Never would have heard of either except for the AGF.

The only guitar that has been influenced by forum reading was my Eastman E20-OM which in hindsight wasn't the greatest purchase.

Like most online communities, this forum is packed full of post-purchase rationalization — everyone's personal takes are highly biased. How many reviews and NGDs are honest about pros and cons, and not just glowing A+++++++ reviews so the buyer can minimize their cognitive dissonance? Like 10%? Maybe?

Then again, no reviews are really honest. Can't trust buyers, can't trust sellers, can't trust magazines and websites because they want to maintain a good relationship with the manufacturer. Just gotta trust your own eyes and ears.

I jumped into carbon fiber because of the AGF. Glad I did. I play them more than my wood guitars by a wide margin. Also learned about Furch.

I think every guitar I have purchased since 2008 was influenced by what I learned here on the AGF. For me, that's a fair number of guitars, I think 7: 5 acoustics, 2 electrics.

Default AGF influenced guitar purchases.

Emerald X7 nylon, Journey OF660, Eastman 00-10, Art&Lutherie Ami nylon, Kenny Hill Player Series 628, Pono 00 and 000 models, Martin 00-28VS, and a Cordoba Torres model purchase were all influenced by the AGF.

And to that I’ll add (if I can find) a Recording King 626…[emoji28]

None bought as a direct result, though I might not have been aware of Mark Hatcher without the Forum... On the other hand, I have learned so much here and the sum total of that has greatly influenced my buying decisions.

Similar story with me, but I'm thankful to AGF for introducing me to Larrivee (love my 1996 OM-09 12-fret) and WEBBER guitars (1998 Roundbody is amazing). AGF is a friendly forum to learn about (and buy/sell) guitars! Both these guitars (and a couple of others) were a direct result of what I learned on AGF.

Cheers!
