She's a beaut! I have had my eyes on this series and this one in particular. Currently have a couple 2006 era Masterbilts that are fantastic. I really don't need a new guitar but the pull is strong. Probably going to unload a HD28 that I love the thought of having, but just not connecting with.

Hey Bruce,

Congrats on your latest. My Epiphone IBG J-200 is still my go-to guitar at this point. Have fun with your string testing. Have even more fun with your playing choices. Hmm, Gibson J-200 or IBG solid-wood faux-Gibson? Hmmm?
(Not a knock on getting the Epiphone IBG. I live in that glass house myself, as I just mentioned.)

I have 3 Epiphone jumbo cases now. One holds my Alvarez AJ60S guitar. And it has brown trim too. The case, not the guitar, which is a natural blonde. Neck, Body and Top. Collar and Cuffs indeed.

If music be a gift of the gods, then play on. (Paraphrasing and altering Shakespeare and Fleetwood Mac.)

Be well,

Don
.

These IBG Epi's are already hitting the used market. I just bought a near mint one locally with a very nice hardshell for about 1/3 off of the regular retail price without a case. The guitar sounds fantastic and the setup is spot on. Only change I made was swapping the plastic pins for bone.
Congrats BruceBubs, hope you enjoy yours as a I do mine.

Congrats on the new Epi! I like mine quite a lot and it just seems to work well for my needs. I will be interested in hearing your opinion of swapping the pins to bone.

Well it took me some time sanding down these bone pins and opening up the slot just slightly on the collars to allow a little more room for the string-end windings to come through but it was worth it.

Pins are sitting nicely on their collars and I think volume and sustain have both improved - remember I only got this guitar 3 days ago!

Didn't notice much of a difference in tone with the bone pins but had a spare set and I think they look a little nicer than the stock plastic. Also strung it with a set of Pearse PB lights and they sound pretty good, strong mids and solid bass response which I like in a dread.
