Need some suggestions on amp
I'm looking to buy my first acoustic amp for my hd28 but I'm kinda overwhelmed by the options. Just wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction. I'm looking for an amp that has a mic input as well as something compact
I was just looking at this one(blackstar compact 30) but can't find any reviews on it https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lxV7JeZp3vo Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated |

What kind of pickups do you have? What kind of mic do you have, i.e. condenser/dynamic? Are you micing the guitar only? Are you micing guitar and vocals? Budget? Venue size? Frequency of playing out?
Answers to these questions will help us give you better direction.

with your budget in mind, and intended use, I'd say a Fishman Loudbox artist, all day long...

If just playing at home, a Loudbox mini would do, I think.

Thanks for the answers. Nice guitar and pickup too. Anyway, it is a small, compact, feature filled amp that won't be the loudest one out there, and you may actually have to update its firmware before using it to get a decent volume level, but I'd go for the Yamaha THR30IIA wireless. It's a little over your stated budget at $549, and the Line 6 wireless relay transmitter would be another $100. That said, there are onboard effects, presets once you dial in tones you like, an aux input [almost all amps have these anyway], a line out, and Reverb on the mic channel.
Now for the best parts: USB interface for superior recording into a computer, Yamaha's SRT mic modeling, battery powered portability, and an app for your phone/tablet to access more advanced features. My only gripe is that there is no phantom power on the XLR mic input.

I'll second the Loudbox Mini recommendation. It's all you'll ever need for playing at home and will also handle a small room gig if needed. You also have the ability to line out from the amp into a PA or recording interface if you decide to go that route. It's also very simple to use.

The mini's are nice, for sure, but since this is something you want to buy once, I'd check the specs on both.
The Artist has a more advanced EQ and effects, also offers more line out options. I have the Artist and I would buy it again if something happened to it, 100%.. I would not buy the mini. There's not much difference in weight and size either from the artist. ...but that's just me..

Never seen one out in the wild. 30 watts is a bit light IME.. But hey, for 200 bucks seems it would be fine for what you're looking for. one think about re blackstar to thin about is repairs and parts. They've (Blackstar) not become famous for being easy to work with for getting stuff fixed. I believe they are based out of Germany still. (Ps: I'd still go with Fishman! )

I'm leaning towards the loudbox mini. Is there any difference in the mini vs mini charge as far as tonal quality?

I should also note that I own and gig all of the current Fishman Loudbox amp line. The Mini, Artist and Performer. When I sold my first Mini to buy the Artist I found myself missing the simple little Mini so much that I bought another one a few weeks ago. It is a very solid amp for what you’re wanting to do.
