A few new pics from the build.

Rosette Walnut center with Koa outer rings

Walnut wedge with Koa strips. Steve and I discussed how to do the wedge. I initially wanted a typical wedge that was the same wood as the binding. Steve encouraged me to consider going with a wedge that uses the same wood as the back and sides (walnut) and framing it Koa which is what binding will be. I did consider it and went with Steve's recommendations. To my eyes Steve was 100% correct. I love this look. It's very subtle which is what I prefer.

I don't think you screwed up at all. I like the slow transition of color from the cedar to the koa to the walnut and back. It's subtle in change, just as the colors of this beautiful wood are subtle, and not 'in your face'. Nice job.

And - personally - I like the big pics! You can resize them on Photobucket or on whatever picture hosting service you're using, but these aren't too big for my screen and I like filling it up!

Thanks for sharing!

Phil

Thank you Phil! Now the pics don't seem so big to me.

One Love--joe

Just got this one back from the finisher. What a difference finish makes.
Time to put this one together. I'll take some nicer pictures when I get it strung up.
