New Used Mandolin Day
Congrats to all with their new mandolins! I picked up a 2020 Kimble F style and it is absolutely fantastic for bluegrass. Has a really strong chop and rings out too. Loving getting to know it.

There need to be more NMD posts, IMHO. I'm certainly enjoying my Weber.
New mandolin players, go search out Rob Meldrum on that cafe website and have him send you his free mandolin setup guide. Even if you pay someone to do the work, you'll have a good understanding of what optimum action is. Now good as Eastmans are out of the box, they can be improved. I'm spoiled by Gryphon. I thought that was the Eastman setup. Not until I played one somewhere else did I realize differently. The Mandolin Store sets them up well too. Fifteen minutes in skilled hands does wonders. A well set up mandolin is a must. Much more exacting than a guitar setup. Very nice Kimble. It should give years of pleasure.
