You know, I’ve got one, and I’ve used it a few times. But I just flat don’t like it. A regular old string crank works fine for me.

The music nomad hand winder is something special. You have to try it to see just how smooth and fast it is.
Same here. I love the Music Nomad and also gave away my electric string winder.

I also use both, battery powered and hand. The black and decker is used for removing them. But I use the over and under method so I need both hands and a simple peg winder works best to put them on. It also feels cool having more gear out to do the job!

You get to an age where you don't know what to say when people ask you what you want for Christmas so I'm in.

Old school hand winder. I once saw the damage a powered winder can do to a headstock and that cured my need for power tools near my guitar.

Oh I know that can't happen to you if you're using one, but it might have happened to me so I choose to eliminate the risk involved with something I didn't actually require to get strings changed.

My wrist muscles have doubled in size.

Same for me. It's great. Works in a fraction of the time required to do it manually.

Frank’s Cranks are my favorite. I own and have used battery powered winders, but I did put a couple of small marks on my headstock in a distracted moment. I don’t find power winders save me any time, so they stay in my drawer now. I really like the wooden hand-made Frank’s Cranks and these are my standard tool.

I use the Black and Decker with a planet waves adapter.

For $10 from Lowe’s, it’s hard to beat.

Battery. You can do the same job either way, but after over 50 years of cranking I'm quite pleased to just hold the trigger for most of the grunt work.
